Carpet

Carpet on the stairs:

First the padding ...

Then the carpet on top ...

The stairs up to the basement are now done, complete with their own handrail.

The shelves/clothes rods are up in the closet too.

Very close ... I'll move in soon.

Handrails

Jake put the handrails in ...

The stairs to the upper hallway.

The stairs to the lower level.   Yeah, it's hard to tell the difference from a photo.   He spent a while thinking about how to go around the corner.   It looks very nice now that he is done & works well too.

I have internet in the addition now.   I still need to put in the access point to have wireless in my existing house, but it is on the way just the same.

Just because ... it's nice to be able to look out at the stormy weather.

Hanukkah 2011

Some pics from Richard & Carla's hanukkah party.

I wore my new sweater that my mother made for me.   I got lots of compliments on it too.

Lots of people were there.

We had food ...

And opening of gifts in the gift exchange.

 So many choices ...
 Modeling the new tie ...
 What was in the box?

Carpet

I now have carpet in the workout room.   It feels really nice underfoot.

There is carpet in the downstairs under the stairs closet.

The upstairs room is done, floor and trim.

It was really cold out -- the railing was all frozen.

The pump closet has shelves.

More doneness

The heater is installed -- very cool when one wants warm. It is warm too, but that's hard to take a picture of.

The floor is in upstairs.  Nate spent a bunch of time cutting and gluing and ta da!  Lovely floor.

The sink countertops are installed.   They put in one of the sink basins, soon I expect it will be installed to use.

The carpeting in the downstairs room is in progress.

Soon ... :-)

Update

New stuff ...

I have handles on my cabinets:

I went down to Ikea yesterday and came home with cabinet handles and towel holders and door mats and such like.   I did leave some things behind for other people to buy, really -- but I brought home a bunch of stuff too.

The people came today and installed the heat, so it is toasty in the main room now.   There is a unit that sits outside (it's a heat pump) and another that hangs on the wall.   It took a while to install, but it's in now.

The glass in in for the deck.   It might not look very different in the picture, being as how one sees though glass, you'll have to take my word for it that the glass is in.  That's Jake and Nate together putting in one of the panels.

More trim, and door stops -- a detail, but a nice one.
