Coming soon, stairs. They have been started, but the photo has yet to be uploaded.
Happenings
When I got home, much of the siding had been put on. I think that they need to have the windows and doors in place before they side around them. The outer doors were delivered on Friday, so now I can turn a handle and go out onto the deck or the front porch.
The house from the street. The new roof harmonizes with the existing one.
The front door from the inside. I like the glass panel.
The deck door is full glass.
From the outside. The deck has had the heat sealing done, so I think it is almost finished. It still needs a railing. That may be put in after painting. It still needs siding too, of course.
The new electric panel is in place, waiting for the city to move the hookup from the old location to the new. The wire is in place to backfeed the power to the panel in the basement. How long that takes will depend somewhat on how the city organizes the transfer, because they have to connect the new and disconnect the old, two different operations.
I have two more planter boxes to build, one more for the hallway and another to put where the laurel bush in the yard is. Then I can call up to get some compost delivered. I got a bunch of bulbs yesterday to plant in them.
Mom and I went to Atlanta to visit Loren last week. I flew from Seattle, arriving Sunday and leaving Wednesday. Mom flew from Tucson, arriving on Sat and leaving the next Sat. I took my camera, but only got a few pics. Here are Mom and Loren next to Loren's new car.

and Mom and I in front of the house. My camera does a timer shot, but I had forgotten how to use it and since we were on our way out I didn't have time to figure it out.
We went out to dinner and to a musical on Tues night and had a lovely time. THe musical was Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, which was very cool. The musician's were kids from the local high school -- it's great that they are having a chance to shine. They played well too.
Lots of stuff going on.
The membrane for the deck surface has been mostly laid down. I came home on Monday night and found Jake and the roofing guy still there, putting down the membrane. They ran out of material, glue, light and energy at about the same time. Long day for them, but it looks great.
They need to put down the last bit and then the roof guy will heat seal the edges. The bits that are covered with tyvek (the white stuff) get covered with trim. The membrane itself goes up the edge, so the roof surface itself is sealed everywhere. It is so totally cool.
Windows! That is Nate in the pic above, nailing a window in place. They are all set in now, except for one opening left to let them put the sheetrock inside.
Siding is starting ...
The wiring guy is here too, putting up blue boxes for outlets (lots! :-) including some in the ceiling). I don't have pics of them yet though.
Ok, no dogs, not really. But roofing, yep ...
The top of the roof is covered with asphalt shingles, just like a good roof should be. The cricket is covered too.
Nice, huh? This is from the deck, looking back at the house. Nice and pointing and water run offy. With flashing too. This confusing picture shows the join to the house on the street side, taken from the front window.
There is a little wall next to the hall on the outside of the deck. The inspector required it for the venting, though I didn't understand the logic. Also, hose bib. ;-)
There is also more wall in the downstairs room (again, required by the inspector), to cover over the lip in the concrete.
And stairs up into the basement.
All sorts of progress.
