Snow -- and oh yeah, some inside pics

Snow, we had snow ... I didn't get myself organized to taking pics until way late in the day, so the light was low.   It turned out that this brought out the sky in the pics, so I like how they came out.  These pics are from the deck.

Jake and Nate did a bunch of work on the porch, so it is looking good.   The old porch has been torn off & they replaced the posts (which really needed replacing!).

The flash kicked in for these pics, so it doesn't look as dark as the snow pics.

Jake and Michael & Susan braved the snow to come down & help me move in.   So very, VERY cool! Insert snoopy dance here.   I slept in the new part last night for the first time -- and slept very well, since I was very tired.   Here is a pic:

The bed will hardly make it to House Beautiful, but it is in the new bedroom.  Who hoo!

The exercise room has exercise stuff in it now -- and why yes, I did go down this morning & do a little bit of weights.    Next up is to get reacquainted with the treadmill.

And your moment of zen -- flowers.

Party time

The house warming party was last night.   I don't have any pics from the party, because I was too busy talking with people and giving tours.    People said all the right things -- mostly wow.  :-)

Here are a few pics of the post party crumbs:

Flowers -- this is an orchid that Costco was selling to help people celebrate the coming spring (or whatever).   I don't have much hopes for its long term longevity, but it looks nice against the brown wall.

A bouquet for the table.   Who knew that I actually have vases?

Brenda brought me a carry basket.   I have looked at these and resisted --  they are very cool things and I am happy to have one now.   Thanks Brenda!

Pete's note said that one of the rules of home ownership is that if you need a tool, you won't have it and if you have a tool, you won't need it.   Thus, he brought me a tool to ward off plumbing problems, which are certainly good to avoid.

The debris at the end.

Thanks very much to all of you that were able to come, especially the people who fought the snow in the north.   For those who weren't able to come this time, I hope to see you here another day.

Moving in today -- excited doesn't begin to cover it.  :-)
