Half size tryout

I decided to make my next project a plain princess seam blouse, using the pattern making software and my half size dress form for the muslim. Here it is with the facing on ...

I think the front neckline is too high, but aside from that, it seems ok. This is with the standard size 10 measurements, but I should be able to apply the same settings to my own measurements when I'm satisfied with the design.

I like working in half size because it doesn't take much paper, fabric or time to put the design together. OTOH, it can be hard to make the curves and is a bit fussy to sew. On the third hand, if I can get good at sewing fussy little pieces together, sewing a full size garment should be a snap.

Top with tucks

I made a muslin for the top with horizontal tucks from the Butterick pattern ...

The back ...

It's ok -- I'm not thrilled, but it's very easy to make.   At least it is if you keep your brain plugged in.   I pressed the darts, then realized they go to the outside & I had pressed them to what would have been the inside, if this were not a muslin.

I'm not thrilled at how far the tucks go into the sleeve, but I think I'll leave them.   Also, I didn't think much of the waist shaping.  I think I'll take it in at the waist & let it out at the hips.  That may fit better & look better.
