I am working on the muslin for a t-shirt. This is the pattern ...
I am trying to make the view with all the tucks around the front. Sadly, the instructions to make the tucks themselves seem to be garbage. I tried it before and got no joy for my efforts (nice dustrag though ;-) ).
This time, I am giving up on the tucks & using bias tape to establish the neckline. Also, I am starting out with a muslin, not in the real fabric (cheap as it is).
I found some bias tape in my stash and made a neckline by putting it on my dressform. Then I gathered the neckline into it. I had an idea of trying to keep the idea of the tucks by spacing out the gathers into groups, but that went nowhere.
I don't like the way the gathers go up to the shoulders, so I pulled them all down into the middle.
I'm not at all sure this is an improvement. The next variation may be to make the neckline longer & lower. Perhaps that is better.
Or perhaps I should give up on this pattern & go try something else. The other view, with the tucks across the top, is interesting. Also, i could just make a plain shirt & give it some interesting sleeves.
